Elena Telbis is a Bulgarian actress of the newer generation, born on August 13, 1990 in Veliko Tarnovo. After graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts and Film "Krastyo Sarafov" in 2013, in the class of Prof. Ivaylo Hristov, she continued her studies with a master's degree in film directing. The stage has always been her place, and from the very beginning it is clear that she puts not only technique, but also personal charge into each role.

Telbis began her professional path in the theater and quickly found her place on the capital's stages. She played in performances such as "Hamlet" and "Jeanne" under the direction of Yavor Gardev, in "Don Juan" by Alexander Morfov and "What Do You Want Me As" by Teddy Moskov. She is part of the troupes of Theater 199, Theater Workshop "Sfumato" and the stage of "Toplotsentrala". She also left her mark on television and cinema - with roles in the film "Karatsi", in the series "Vina", as well as in productions such as "Department of Search". These participations show her range - from the intimate theatrical environment to the big screen.

Her most significant personal project in recent years is the one-man show "Prima Facie". It is based on the play by Australian author Susie Miller and tells the story of Tessa Ensler - a young lawyer who believes in the law and rules, until a situation confronts her with the need to seek justice for herself. The play is her first independent project, performed on various stages in Sofia and Varna, including in the "Toplotsentrala" and at the Varna Festival, and received strong reviews from the audience and critics. The scenography and costumes were created by Vanina Tsandeva, and the consultant was actress Svetlana Yancheva.

"Prima Facie" is a play that is not only perceived as a theatrical experience, but also as a position - through it Telbis asks questions about law, justice and society's attitude towards women. In interviews, she admits that the play is a test, because she is alone on stage, but also a challenge, which gives her complete freedom to show her understanding of acting.

Her talent has also been recognized by the professional community. Elena Telbis has been nominated for the "Askeer" award, and has also been awarded the "Icarus". This is a clear sign that she is already among the names that bear the new face of Bulgarian theater.

Today, Telbis is an artist who knows how to balance between different genres and formats. She is equally convincing in classical dramatic roles and in contemporary projects, and "Prima Facie" confirms her place as an actress who is not afraid to be alone on stage and speak directly to the audience about the most painful and important topics.
