Nadya Derderyan is a Bulgarian actress who graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts „Krastyo Sarafov“ in 2008 with a major in „Acting for Dramatic Theatre“. Her training took place in the class of Prof. Snezhina Tankovska, one of the most respected educators at the academy, who has prepared several generations of young actors. Her first professional roles came immediately after graduation, when she began to work actively with various troupes and on different stages.

 

At the beginning of her career, Derderyan joined independent theatre productions and quickly attracted attention with her stage presence. She worked in theatres in the capital such as Theatre „Sofia“, Theatre „Vazrazhdane“ and Theatre „Atelie 313“. In these spaces she gained experience in a variety of genres – from classical drama to contemporary comedy texts. It is precisely this range that makes her an actress who can move from the comic to the dramatic with ease, without losing credibility.

 

Over the years, Nadya Derderyan has taken part in numerous productions, among which stand out „Small Family Murders“, „If I Didn’t Have Bad Dreams“, „Family Album“ and „Marriage“. She has worked with a number of Bulgarian directors and has partnered with actors from different generations. Gradually, she has established herself as a name the audience associates with sincerity and stage energy.

 

The television audience also knows her. Nadya Derderyan has appeared in popular Bulgarian series, taking on episodic roles in „Stolen Life“, „Father’s Day“ and other productions. These appearances have allowed her to reach viewers beyond the theatre hall and to demonstrate that her acting talent can manifest in front of the camera as well, in the more intimate atmosphere of the television frame.

 

In 2024 she is part of the cast of the production „Perfect Intruders“, a production of Theatre Artvent. The show is a comedy by Jean-Pierre Martinez, directed by Nikolay Gunderov, with music by Kalin Nikolov. It also features Gerasim Georgiev – Gero, Iva Todorova and Petar Kalchev. The premiere took place on 18 November 2024 in Sofia. The production quickly attracted the audience’s attention and began to be performed on various stages around the country.

 

„Perfect Intruders“ tells the story of two couples – one from Paris, the other from the provinces – whose relationships go through an avalanche of misunderstandings, lies and social masks. The production is filled with humor, but also with observations on contemporary human relationships. Nadya Derderyan plays the role of Juliette, the wife of the character Vincent, portrayed by Gerasim Georgiev – Gero. The two are the hosts around whom the action unfolds. The character of Juliette is key – she is both a witty commentator on the situation and part of the whirlwind of misunderstandings that turns the dinner at first glance into a chaotic but comic catastrophe.

 

Critical reactions to „Perfect Intruders“ note the ensemble work of the troupe and the good chemistry between the actors. Nadya Derderyan’s presence is cited as one of the reasons the production feels lively and finds the right balance between sarcasm, lightness and human warmth.

 

Her participation in this production is an important stage in her career because it places her alongside established names and within a production that combines comedy with an intelligent social subtext.
