B.T.R. – Over 30 Years of Rock History on One Stage
When it comes to Bulgarian rock, one name always stands out – B.T.R.. For over three decades, the band has created anthems that unite generations, fill concert halls and clubs, and prove that true rock never grows old. In 2025, the band will once again bring their fans together during their national club tour, which will visit stages across the country.
B.T.R.'s concerts are not just musical events – they are an experience. Each song carries the energy of the years in which it was created, yet sounds just as relevant today. “Salvation”, “Flower from the Moon”, “No Turning Back”, “100 Years” – these are just some of the hits that continue to thrill audiences and are sung loudly from the first row to the last.
In the intimate club atmosphere of the tour, rock sounds even more powerful and personal. There is no distance between the stage and the audience – only energy flowing from the musicians to the fans and back again. This is what makes meeting B.T.R. so special: a mutual connection felt in every chord, every word, every pause.
The band proves that despite the passage of time, despite new styles and trends, rock remains alive. And B.T.R. is its strongest testament in Bulgaria. With inexhaustible energy, experience gained through dozens of albums and concerts, and the love of an audience that has followed them from day one to today.
Be part of this unforgettable rock experience. Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering B.T.R.'s music, the concert will remind you why rock is more than a genre – it’s a way of life.
Formed in Sofia in 1984, B.T.R. grew from heavy metal roots into one of Bulgaria’s defining hard‑rock bands. The core line‑up that fans know best has been rock‑solid since the late 1990s: Atanas “Nasko” Penev (lead vocals), Kiril Bozhkov and Slavcho Nikolov (guitars, vocals), Ivan Kalfov (bass, vocals) and Ilian Dikov (drums). Their catalogue spans crowd‑roaring riffs and big ballads in Bulgarian, with songs that longtime listeners can sing by heart and newcomers pick up within minutes.
The 2026 summer run hits Bulgaria’s open‑air amphitheatres before a finale at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia on 27 November 2026. Expect landmark venues and full‑throttle sets in cities such as Sandanski, Gabrovo, Ruse, Shumen, Burgas and Varna, plus a special night at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv on 13 August. It’s a tour designed for volume and visibility: big guitars, big choruses, and the band’s trademark precision honed over decades of constant gigging at home and abroad.
Setlists typically pull from turning‑point releases. “B.T.R. ’97” introduced the concert staple “Elmaz i Staklo (Diamond and Glass)”, while “Seven Ballads” (1998) arrived as Bulgaria’s first enhanced audio CD and preserved the era’s anthems with music videos on the disc itself. “Dreams” (1999) delivered “Flower from the Moon” and a more melodic studio sound; “The Game” (2002) pushed the band further into the mainstream; and in recent years B.T.R. have stayed fiercely current with “Invisible Walls” (2018) and “Puzzle” (2021).
Part of the thrill is their live pedigree. B.T.R. have opened for international giants including Iron Maiden and Deep Purple, and in 2002 invited Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes to join them for a special show at the National Palace of Culture, complete with symphonic arrangements. Their road stories stretch from festival stages in France to appearances in Romania and China, but it’s on Bulgarian stages—especially in the summer—that their songs hit with maximum force.
