For the first time in Bulgaria!
A comedy that starts on Broadway, passes through Balkan metamorphoses, and arrives on „Rakovska“, thanks to the „Tetris“ Foundation.
An affair between two different souls that grows from a simple audition into a whirlwind love story, garnished with Bulgarian-style laughter, with Hollywood-level professionalism, and lightly sprinkled with drama in classic style.
Fun from start to finish !
What starts in a casting room quickly turns into a quick‑witted duel of timing and chemistry. This intimate, two‑actor comedy is led on stage by Janett Miovska and Nikolay Todorov, whose dynamic rapport powers a story that playfully blurs the line between performance and real feeling. Direction is by Kamen Koev, with original music created for the production by Militsa Gladnishka together with Ivan Velchev—musical cues that add a sly, cinematic glint to the action.
The show had its Bulgarian premiere on May 14, 2024 (7:30 p.m.) at the historic community center “Slavyanska beseda – 1880.” It now welcomes audiences in the building’s theater complex on 127 Rakovski Street, Sofia—most often on the Chamber Stage known to generations of theatregoers as “Salza i Smyah.” The venue is one of the capital’s cultural landmarks and the perfect size for a close‑up view of a spirited two‑hander.
Expect screwball rhythms, audition‑room mind games, and the kind of backstage truths that ring uncomfortably—and hilariously—true. The script’s “Broadway bones” remain, but the humor has been sharpened for local ears, with references and rhythms that land squarely in Sofia. Running time is approximately 120 minutes, giving the actors room to escalate the stakes and then let the heart sneak in.
If you’re mapping out a comedy streak, pair this title with other audience favorites on our stage list, such as the relationship capers in Savarsheni natrapnici or the razor‑edged office satire of Bez garanciya. Fans of character‑driven farce might also enjoy the ring‑ring chaos of Idiotyt zvyni vinagi tri pyti.
Seen up close, with no place for the characters to hide, “Любов по сценарий в HOLLYWOOD” becomes a lively study in ego, ambition and the accidents that rewrite our best‑laid plans. It’s bright, fast, and just sentimental enough to linger after the applause.
