Created especially for very young ears, this gentle, story‑led concert is designed for children aged 0–5 and their grown‑ups. It is part of the long‑running children’s series curated by Chamber Ensemble “Silhouettes,” whose baby and toddler programs have introduced families in Sofia to classical music in an approachable, playfully narrated format.

On stage you’ll meet the full Silhouettes quartet: Kalina Miteva (violin), Gabriela Kaloyanova (cello), Kristiyan Kaloyanov (clarinet) and Liliya Jekova (piano) — an unusual and colorful combination that gives young listeners plenty of contrasting sounds to discover. The program brings together short classical miniatures by composers such as Schubert, Debussy and Tchaikovsky, selected for their memorable melodies and vivid tone colors. Expect clear musical “pictures” and bite‑sized pieces that keep small audiences engaged from the first note to the last.

Silhouettes are not newcomers to big ideas for small listeners. Formed in 2012 after years of playing together at the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov,” the ensemble has appeared at major forums including the XVII Austrian Music Weeks (2013), the International Chamber Music Festival in Plovdiv (2014), and March Music Days in Ruse (2015). In 2017 they were invited as a guest ensemble of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) and previously received a Special Award at the prestigious ISA summer academy — credentials that speak to the artistry behind the fun.

Venue notes

The performance takes place at City Mark Art Center, 30 Yanko Sakazov Blvd — an intimate, central Sofia venue opposite Zaimov Park. The hall’s capacity is up to 300, which keeps the atmosphere friendly and close to the performers. Arriving a few minutes early allows children to settle, spot the instruments, and get comfortable before the music begins.
