Info - Boyko Krastanov:

Boyko Krastanov is one of the leading contemporary Bulgarian actors, known for his presence in theatre, television, and cinema. He was born on 21 December 1987 in Sofia. From an early age, he showed an interest in acting and the performing arts, which led him to the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts „Krastyo Sarafov“. There he enrolled and graduated in 2010 in the class of Prof. Zdravko Mitkov, which laid a solid foundation for his career in the dramatic and comedic genres.

After graduating, Boyko Krastanov performed actively with the company of the Small City Theatre „Behind the Canal“. There he took part in productions such as „I’m Leaving“, „Death and the Devil“, „Rent“, „Love and Money“ and „Winter Tales“, where he demonstrated his ability to embody a variety of characters — from abstract or metaphorical to intimately human and comedic.

In film and television, Krastanov has notable roles. His debut was in 2010 in the thriller „HDSP: Hunting Small Predators“, where he played the role of Space. From the start of his career, he became known for the role of Dani Kasabov in the series „Glass Home“, which brought him wider public recognition. He subsequently appeared in other popular productions such as „Undercover“, as well as in comedic and dramatic formats that affirmed his versatility and skills across different genres.

The comedic production „Desperate Husbands“ is among the more recent and striking stage projects in his career. In this performance, Boyko Krastanov shares the stage with Daniel Peev and Yavor Baharov. They present three stories related to love — successes and failures, expectations, disappointments. Krastanov is part of an ensemble that combines humor, self-irony, and observations on contemporary relationships. „Desperate Husbands“ is an adaptation from a foreign text, directed by Vasil Duev, and translated for the Bulgarian stage with adjustments to the local context. The performance is staged in Sofia and at summer theatre venues, and it attracts audiences thanks to its contemporary view of gender, comic situations, and the dynamics between partners.

Besides „Desperate Husbands“, Boyko Krastanov is developing his career in other significant projects and formats. He appears in the romantic comedy „Reunion“ and its sequel, and he is part of the successful series „Sunny Beach“, in which he portrays the character Mikhail Georgiev-Gomez. These television roles bring him not only popularity, but also show that he can maintain steady contact with the audience — not just as a stage actor, but as a familiar face on screens.

His voice, his presence on stage and on screen speak of an artist who evolves over time. Boyko Krastanov combines the seriousness of dramatic acting with the lightness of comedy — he can be sincere, he can provoke laughter, he can bring emotion and tension. His style is distinguished by a good feel for characters, by the ability to make dialogue lively, and comic situations — natural. He is an artist who is not afraid to take risks: to participate in projects that ask questions, that are close to life, and not just entertainment.

On a personal level, although not so publicly documented, Boyko Krastanov remains an artist who values the balance between stage and television, between publicity and the personal. He is present in Bulgaria’s cultural scene not just as an actor, but as someone who creates a connection with the audience — through sincerity, through a willingness to show himself imperfect, through the fact that his characters are not just images, but people with their own weaknesses and ambitions.
