Deyan Angelov was born on 30 August 1980 in Sofia. He studied pantomime and acting at NATFIZ — first with Prof. Vasil Indzhev (1999‑2000), and then with Prof. Stefan Danailov, where he graduated in 2004. He often partners on stage with his twin brother Darin Angelov — the two are well known for their dynamic performances in a number of theatrical productions.
Currently, he is part of the troupe of the Youth Theatre „Nikolay Binev“, where he appears in numerous productions — from classics to contemporary texts. The repertoire includes titles such as „Uncle Vanya“, „On the Edge“, „From All Sides“, „Black Comedy“ and others, which afford him acting depth and a platform for diverse roles.
With his entry into stage comedy, Deyan showcases his talent beyond classical theatre. In „Remove from Friends“ — an adaptation of Steven Moffat, directed by Valentin Ganev, he is part of an ensemble alongside names such as Maria Sapundzhieva, Vladimir Zombori and others. The production toured Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas in 2023 and received high praise for its contemporary ironic humor.
In 2024, together with Stefania Koleva, he also takes part in „No Guarantee“ — a stand-up exploration of themes of gender, male-female relations, and the existential comic situations of everyday life.
The premiere is at the „Lumiere“ cinema in Sofia, and the show continues to be performed on various stages and around the country, earning applause for the energy and sincerity of the performance.
As an artist, Deyan Angelov successfully moves between traditional theatre and contemporary formats of stage expression — stand-up, the comedy genre, and performances with personal energy and originality.
