Lilia Lazarova Maravilha is a Bulgarian theater and film actress, born on January 18, 1969 in Varna. She graduated from VITIZ "Krastyo Sarafov" in 1993 in the class of Prof. Krikor Azaryan, Elena Baeva and Assoc. Prof. Todor Kolev. This education gave her a solid foundation for a future career, which developed both on the theater stage and in cinema and television.
After graduating, Lilia Maravilha began working on the stage of Theatre "Tear and Laughter", where she appeared in numerous productions in the 1990s. Later she played at the Ivan Vazov National Theater, the Sofia Theater, the 199 Theater, as well as the Youth and Satire Theaters. Her repertoire is rich and varied - from classical plays to contemporary comedies and dramaturgy.
Among the more important productions in which she participated are: "Butterflies Are Free", "Cry for Love", "Mrs. Minister", "The Iron Lantern", "Love Letters", "Crime and Punishment", "Antigone", "Moth" and many others. Critics often note her stage charisma and ability to build characters with psychological depth.
Lilia Maravilha became widely known to the television audience with her participation in successful series. Among them are:
- “Undercover” (NOVA) – one of the most successful Bulgarian crime series.
- “Glass House” (bTV) – a drama series, where she plays one of the supporting characters.
- “Connections” (bTV/Love.net Productions) – a modern series about contemporary family and professional relationships.
In cinema, she has participated in several productions, including “Love.net” (2011), where she partnered with some of the most popular Bulgarian actors of her generation.
For her roles in the theater, Lilia Maravilha has been awarded several “Icarus” awards, which ranks her among the recognized and respected Bulgarian actresses. These awards are for various roles, mainly in theatrical productions, and highlight her mastery in dramatic and comedic acting.
In recent years, Lilia Maravilla has participated in the play “The Neighbors Upstairs”, a production of Artvent Theater. The play is an adaptation of the Spanish film “Los Amigos de Arriba” by Cesc Guy. The director is Emil Markov, and the cast also includes Silvia Petkova, Emil Markov and Ivan Burnev.
The Bulgarian premiere of the play is on December 3, 2022 in Sofia, at the “Theatro otsam kana” hall. The play is also performed in other cities, including Varna and Dobrich.
