Pavel Ivanov is a Bulgarian actor, born on September 8, 1993 in Ruse. He studied at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts and Sciences "Krastyo Sarafov", majoring in "acting for dramatic theater", he was part of the class of Prof. Stefan Danailov and graduated in 2016. Even before graduating, in 2014, Pavel became part of the troupe of the National Theater "Ivan Vazov".
His first scenes were at the Drama Theater "Sava Ognyanov" in Ruse; there Pavel encountered stage experience and improved his skills before establishing himself on the big stages in Sofia. At the National Theater, he has been part of a number of productions, including "Duel", "The Tiger", "Meeting in Senlis", "The Guilty", "One Crazy Day", "The Color of Deep Water", "Lunatics" and "A Pleasant Woman in Bad Company".
Cinema and television also played a role in his development as an actor. In 2018, he appeared in the series "The Policemen from the Edge of the City" - his role there was that of Kiko, the son of the character "Gigi". Then, in 2021, he gained a wider audience with the role of veterinarian Todor in the comedy series "Daddy's Boys", where he played alongside other young actors. In addition to television, Pavel also starred in the film "Gundy - Legend of Love", where he played the role of the legendary football player Georgi Asparuhov - the preparation and work on this film were long and remarkable for his career.
But among his stage appearances, two productions stand out in particular: "Friday Night" and its sequel "Sunday Morning". They are original performances in which Pavel Ivanov participates together with Stoyan Doichev, Filip Bukov, Hristo Padev and Skiller.
“Friday Night” is a comedy production directed by Ivaylo Nenov, which examines the expectations of Friday night as a symbol of entertainment, social connections and personal desires.
“Sunday Morning” appears as a sequel, in which we return to the consequences of “Friday Night” – what remains of the party, how Sunday morning brings its own dilemmas and reflections.
In “Friday Night” Pavel shows a sense of pace and scene – typical of roles that require dynamics, contact with the audience, and the ability to be both part of the ensemble and stand out at the same time. In “Sunday Morning” he copes with the task of transferring the emotions of a stormy Friday night into a morning atmosphere, with a calmer, but no less emotional rhythm.
To date, Pavel Ivanov is an artist who manages to balance between theater and screen formats. He has a clearly established theater career, supported by television projects; roles that are not just misadventures, but characters that leave an impression – be it Gundy, Doctor Todor or Alex in “Remove from Friends” (also one of the productions in which he appears).
Over time, it has been observed that Pavel strives to choose roles that allow him to explore not only the comic side of life, but also the nuances that come with tension, regret, expectation and a zone of personal transformation. "Friday Night" and "Sunday Morning" are good examples - they show not only the laughter, but also those moments in which we begin to feel the other side of the party.
