Stoyan Doychev was born on March 13, 1988 in Varna. His acting education is specialized in puppet theater - in 2012 he graduated from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts and Film "Krastyo Sarafov", majoring in "Acting for Puppet Theater", in the class of Prof. Zheni Pashova and Assoc. Prof. Petar Pashov.
His acting career began at the State Puppet Theater - Varna, where he started as a puppeteer, and then he participated in productions at the Plovdiv Puppet Theater, as well as the Sofia Puppet Theater. Among the productions in the puppet theaters are "Under the Mushroom", "Magic School", "Tales from the Snowy Forest", "A Tale of Happiness" and "Mowgli".
One of the key scenes that established him among the dramatic audience is that Stoyan Doychev participated in the production "I, Sisyphus" at the Small City Theater "Behind the Canal". This gave him the opportunity to show skills outside of puppetry - to be part of a performance that is aimed at a wider dramatic audience.
His television and film career is also notable. One of his more widely known characters is Radoslav ("Rado") in the series "Tatkovtsi", recently. Stoyan has said in interviews that his experience since childhood is connected with the love of the stage and the characters who want more than just a text - he wants them to come alive, to provoke, to be real. In a conversation with Hristo Padev, he shared that the work on "Fathers" and "Friday Night" was intense - a lot of text, time for preparation, frequent takes, insistence on improvisation, on the scenes sounding "human and sincere".
Stoyan Doychev remains an artist who is not afraid of different formats - from puppet theater to series and films, from children's performances to author's comedies. To the audience, he is known as Rado from "Tatkovtsi", and on the theater stage he is a man whose images and choices feel balanced - the child, the human, the slightly comic nuance, but also the tension when the roles require it.
