This is a concert, stand-up, a provocative quiz show, all rolled into one, or simply Ivo Dimchev. At his concert, you don't know where you are… on Broadway, at the Golden Orpheus, at a party in Berlin, at the opera or at a wedding in Filipovtsi! Ivo Dimchev is a Bulgarian artist and songwriter who mercilessly blurs genre boundaries. Since 2023, he has been an artist-in-residence at La MaMa Theatre in New York. Author and director of more than 40 stage productions, presented at prestigious art festivals around the world. In recent years, his presence has become quite palpable on the international music scene as well. Over the past year, Ivo Dimchev has also been on the lineups of some of the most prestigious music festivals in the world, Glastonbury (England), Les Musicales (France), SXSW (USA), Eurosonic (Netherlands), Pohoda (Slovakia), Fusion (Germany) and many others.
What kind of night is an Ivo Dimchev concert? Expect a voice that vaults from dusky baritone to an almost glassy, high register; synths and keys that flirt with club textures; and the sort of spontaneous stage talk that turns a room into co‑conspirators. The songs carry the drama of his performance works yet land with the directness of pop. It’s intimate, a little mischievous, and very alive.
