“Romantic - One Night in Latino” brings Orlin Goranov and Edelina Kaneva to the stage of Hall 1 at NDK
The musical spectacle will immerse the audience in the warmth of southern nights on November 26
Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture will transform into a stage of passion, emotion, and an exciting musical narrative on November 26. Orlin Goranov and Edelina Kaneva will immerse the audience in “Romantic - One Night in Latino” – a concert that promises to transport viewers far from the November reality and envelop them in the warmth of southern nights.
The concert will combine the elegant sound of two exceptional artists with new musical arrangements inspired by timeless Latino hits and the rhythms of salsa, rumba, and samba. With the voices of Orlin Goranov and Edelina Kaneva, familiar melodies will come alive in a different light – more sensual, more dynamic, and filled with Latino emotion.
The musical spectacle will be structured as a complete stage experience featuring a large symphonic orchestra. The overall musical concept is led by conductor Georgi Miltiadov, who unites the individual elements into a cohesive musical narrative.
The stage will evoke a sense of cabaret and classical music salon, where music and dance intertwine to tell stories of love, encounters, and shared moments. The meeting between Orlin Goranov and Edelina Kaneva on stage is a convergence of two strong voices and two different yet complementary theatrical worlds, united by a shared sensitivity to music and the ability to tell stories through it – both in romantic and more rhythmic, danceable performances.
“Romantic: One Night in Latino” is an invitation to the audience to experience a different November evening – warmer, more beautiful, and closer to the heart.
Two artists with very different roots meet on common musical ground. Orlin Goranov — a Bulgarian pop icon who moved with ease into opera and screen acting — brings the velvety phrasing that earned him international prizes, including the Golden Orpheus first prize in 1984, and a starring turn in the hit film Mission London. Across from him is soprano Edelina Kaneva, a long‑time soloist on Sofia’s lyric stages, celebrated for leading roles in Tosca and Il trovatore and for crossing into musical theatre with titles like MAMMA MIA!. When they share a stage, the repertoire opens up: pop standards sit beside theatre duets and evergreen romances, always sung as stories.
This edition looks south—through the pulse of Latin music. Expect the tenderness of the Cuban bolero, the dramatic shadow of tango, the sway of Brazilian bossa nova and the sparkle of Caribbean dance rhythms. Their contrasting timbres make space for playful call‑and‑response, whispered confessions, then soaring climaxes. Between numbers, the artists are known to add brief anecdotes that frame each song, turning a setlist into a narrative arc.
Goranov and Kaneva have toured Bulgaria in duet programs that blend musical‑theatre favorites with much‑loved Bulgarian songs; audiences come for the virtuosity and stay for the sincerity. That same balance carries into this Latin evening, where melodies familiar from film, radio and the stage are reimagined with new tempos, modulations and instrumental colors. No matter your entry point — opera, pop, or dance — you’ll recognize yourself somewhere in the set.
