What happens when the person who is supposed to keep everything under control suddenly loses control over themselves?
Gerassim Georgiev-Gero and Dimitar Zhivkov meet in „For the Nose of a President“ – a hit French comedy where a seemingly minor crisis triggers a major clash.
What follows is a virtuoso verbal ping-pong with unexpected twists and absurd situations – witty, relentless, and filled with laughter.
A comedy about ego, fears, and the masks behind which we feel safe. Until someone asks the right question.
Two men in one room. Who will come out of it the same?

Background and why this French hit keeps touring the world
The Bulgarian production draws on Par le bout du nez, the 2020 Paris creation by the celebrated duo Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière (authors of Le Prénom), premiered at Théâtre Antoine under Bernard Murat’s direction. Their two-hander is itself freely inspired by Ramon Madaula’s Catalan comedy L’electe (El electo), in which a newly elected leader is forced into an emergency session with a specialist just hours before a defining public appearance. The result: a razor-edged political tête‑à‑tête that has traveled widely because it’s less about “politics” and more about what power does to people when the camera light turns red.
About the Bulgarian team
On stage, Gerasim Georgiev–Gero and Dimitar Zhivkov turn that duel into a game of smarts, status and verbal footwork. Audiences know Gero’s range from muscular roles such as Zorba on the stage of the Bulgarian Army Theatre, while Zhivkov’s precision timing in his solo piece “Zhivak” and his work teaching stage speech at NATFIZ sharpen every punchline and pause here. It’s a casting that favors agility: the “president” and the “expert” continually trade places as the one who leads, the one who listens, the one who blinks first.
Expect brisk, talk‑driven comedy with the mechanics of a thriller. The room never changes, but the stakes do. A stray memory derails a prepared statement; a slip of the tongue opens a chasm; a perfectly aimed question flips the whole power dynamic. The authors’ signature—honed since Le Prénom—shows in the clockwork structure: scenes built on confessions, traps, escapes and a final sprint where every earlier detail pays off. The refined gleam of French Baroque music by Jean‑Philippe Rameau adds a courtly sheen to the sparring, underlining how image and ritual can matter as much as substance when someone holds the top office.
Who will enjoy it
If you like contemporary European comedies that start as farce and end as X‑ray of ambition, this one is for you. It’s also a great pick if you appreciate actor‑driven evenings—two performers, one space, maximum tension—where laughter lands alongside uneasy recognition about spin, therapy‑speak and our appetite for “strong leaders.”
