Bogdana Trifonova is a Bulgarian journalist, radio host, and actress, born on 23 November 1971 in Sofia. She completed academic education culminating in „Acting for Puppet Theatre“ at VITIZ (now NATFIZ) in 1995, in the class of Professor Dora Ruskova. She combines a multifaceted media and theatrical career — she began as a journalist, reporter, and host, and gradually moved into theatrical productions and stage comedy.
In her career, journalism holds an important place — Bogdana worked as a reporter on the culture beat right after completing her acting training. On television she has been a screenwriter, reporter, and host in various programs, and radio is among the media in which she is also well known. This experience gives her the skills to speak freely before an audience, to tell stories with a script structure, and to convey emotion through her voice — qualities she later channels into her theatrical presence.
In recent years, Bogdana Trifonova has joined the project „State of Emergency“ — a stand-up comedy created from true stories from the time of the quarantine. The performances feature the three leading figures: Bogdana Trifonova, Zdrava Kamenova, and Stefania Koleva. In „State of Emergency“ situations, experiences, and observations from the period of emergency measures are recounted: quarantine, online education, social isolation, interactions at home, people with various constraints, the intention to preserve normality despite the circumstances — and there the humor appears precisely in the confused moments, in the absurdities, in expectations vs. reality.
After the success of „State of Emergency“, Bogdana Trifonova also takes part in the show „Extraordinary Love“. This time the theme is different — eight real love stories are presented, told by a female trio. In „Extraordinary Love“ a dramatic impulse is combined with comedic elements, emotions that are close to everyone — from a first meeting, through expectations, disagreement, compromise, sometimes pain, but also a smile. The format is a stage stand-up show in which the three performers act out these stories, performed and sometimes „danced out“ before an audience.
Her performances in these shows demonstrate that Bogdana is not only a media voice — she is an artist who knows how to turn the everyday, the social, and the personal into a stage. She knows how to listen, to observe, to reframe — what it means to be in the prison of a situation you did not choose yourself (in „State of Emergency“), or in the labyrinth of emotions and expectations in love (in „Extraordinary Love“).
An important aspect is that the performances are contemporary, with a sharp look at life, with a strong dialogue with the audience that calls for irony, emotion, and empathy. It is precisely this balance — between laughter and reflection — that Bogdana brings to her theatrical appearances.
At present Bogdana Trifonova is an established figure not only among listeners and viewers, but also among artists who work in genres such as stand-up, comedic drama, and theatrical satire. Her style is characterized by sincerity, a good sense for the subject, for the audience, and for the moment — and by an ability to unite media and stage art.
