Two voices that shaped the sound of the Balkans share one bill in Sofia’s flagship indoor arena. Bulgarian pop-folk favorite Sofi Marinova and Serbian icon Dragana Mirković bring decades of radio staples and club anthems to a Friday night in late November — a meeting point for chalga, turbo‑folk and modern pop production.
Expect a set that moves easily between high‑energy dance tracks and big, emotional ballads. Marinova’s Eurovision entry “Love Unlimited” became a regional earworm in 2012 thanks to its hook and the multilingual “I love you” refrain — a nod to the way her music bridges audiences across borders. Long‑time fans also know her collaborations with hip‑hop artist Ustata and her blend of Bulgarian and Romani stylistic colors. Mirković arrives with a catalogue that has soundtracked parties and weddings for more than three decades, from the sweeping title track “Luče moje” (2006) to the sing‑along favorite “Sve bih dala da si tu” (2008), alongside earlier hits such as “Oči pune tuge.”
Sofia’s arena — today branded Arena 8888 Sofia — sits at 1 Asen Yordanov Blvd and regularly hosts large‑scale concerts, sports, and TV spectacles. Opened in 2011, it has staged everything from Cirque du Soleil to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In its concert configuration the venue can welcome close to 18,000 people, with modern sightlines, rigging and sound designed for arena‑level productions. In other words, plenty of room for full‑band arrangements, backing vocalists and the kind of visual flourishes these stars are known to bring when they play to big crowds.
