Info - Silvia Petkova:

Silvia Petkova was born on July 7, 1987, in Sofia. From an early age she showed interest in the stage and theatre, although her childhood was connected with sports, school, and language studies — she studied Spanish at the 13th Secondary School „Sts. Cyril and Methodius“.

After school she decided to study acting and in 2010 graduated from NATFIZ „Krastyo Sarafov“, specialty „Acting for Dramatic Theatre“, in the class of Prof. Zdravko Mitkov.

Her first role on the theatrical stage was in the production „Of Mice and Men“ by John Steinbeck, directed by Asen Blatechki, where she plays the Woman — this took place at the „Boyan Danovski“ Theatre in Pernik. This participation gave her initial professional experience. Not long after, she became part of the troupe of Theatre „Sofia“, from around 2011 onward. In Sofia she took part in productions such as „Pippi Longstocking“, „Tiramisu“, „4 Rooms“, „Jump“ and „Love’s Labour’s Lost“. Gradually, she chose a freer form of work, as an artist who is not bound to just one institution.

Among the screen works that brought Silvia popularity are her roles as Mrs. Dimitrova in the series „Revolution Z“, as well as the role of Kera in „The Road of Honor“. These roles made her recognizable among a wider audience, not only among theatre connoisseurs.
In 2025 she joins the cast of the production „The Neighbors Upstairs“, an Artvent production. This comedy show also features Lilia Maraviglia, Emil Markov and Ivan Burnev. The production is an adaptation of the film by Cesc Gay, directed by Emil Markov.

In „The Neighbors Upstairs“ Silvia Petkova plays one of the two neighboring couples, whose relationship with the hosts — Ana and Julio — unfolds in tension, comedic conflicts and discussions of personal and social topics. This production combines everyday petty irritations with deeper human reactions — jealousy, noise, dissatisfaction and a longing for change.

Outside the theatre, Silvia Petkova appears in films and series, some of which are „Our Little Differences“, „Undercover“, „Yellow Dog“, „The Joy and Suffering of the Body“. This allows her to move between theatricality and more intimate expression, between the stage production and the film/television frame.

Characteristic of Silvia is that she prefers roles that allow her to express her emotional intelligence. In an interview she mentioned that she is excited by characters that are not one-dimensional — those that carry inner conflicts but also dignity.

The production „The Neighbors Upstairs“ is a new challenge for Petkova, because she manages to enter a comedic context with a text translated into Bulgarian culture, yet preserve the natural, human element in her heroine’s behavior. The audience applauds her for her vibrant presence, for the way she manages to balance between humor and tension — between the noise of the „neighbors upstairs“ and the personal boundaries within a family.

Today Silvia Petkova is among the actresses who combine solid education, a variety of stages and roles, and she participates in productions that are both entertaining and provocative.
